Description

Central Bethany, an established and growing real estate development and property management company just north of the Beaverton/Hillsboro area, seeks a Project Engineer to join the Construction team! The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Administrator in the management, coordination, and documentation of construction projects. The Project Engineer for RKm Development will be involved in all CBC projects and will ensure projects are prepped, bid, organized, and processed accurately and efficiently, and this role will develop skills and experience to progress to a Project Manager. Main Responsibilities

  • Develop a proficient understanding of each projects scope and approach, in addition to interpreting construction documents and technical manuals.
  • Write, publish, and distribute meeting minutes, schedule graphs, and activities checklists.
  • Digitally organize and file record documents.
  • Act as the technical advisor at onsite field construction trailer.
  • Represent CBC/RKm Development as needed with municipal agents, vendors, subcontractors, tenants, etc. establishing positive, long-term working relationships is critical.
  • Process contracts, cost estimates, change orders, understand budgets, work timetables, and reports received from the PM/Superintendent.
  • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings are documented.
  • Work with the team to develop project strategies, handle unexpected issues and delays, and create effective solutions to problems when necessary.
  • Communicate safety protocols regularly.
  • Work with the PM to coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and field inspectors.
  • Work with the PM to assist on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and warranty items.
  • Complete projects and special assignments, as requested.
  • Be dependable, work diligently, and have a positive attitude.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of proven working experience in the construction/engineering industry as a project engineer or project administrator.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with acute visual observation skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communicates effectively and to uses tact when dealing with contractors.
  • Understands construction methods and technologies, including interpreting contracts, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project scheduling, specifically critical path activities.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Comfortable working in high-stress situations balancing multiple priorities and deadlines to move projects forward.
  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet, or similar construction management software.
  • Navigate challenging worksites including in inclement weather and with uneven/unstable ground.
  • Ability to work quickly, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, mechanical engineering architecture, or equivalent industry-specific experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must possess a current drivers license and a safe driving record; must be able to be insured to drive company vehicles.
